For years, we have been guessing our exact anchor scope when anchoring. with navigation systems helping us to improve our accuracy, there has always been the risk that our estimate of how much chain we have actually put out, could mean we have too little chain on the sea bed and the risk of dragging increases.

Lorfrans make a very simple magnet based chain counter that would help us know exactly how much chain we have put out and never worry about dragging ever again.

Our good friends at A R Peachments were kind enough to offer us one of these counters to use onboard Indioko and we can’t wait to install it and get back out there to use it.
