Our a-symmetrical spinnaker (aka “The Fachan”)  has been through a lot recently and we think we have worked out the cause of its recent tears and scars.

We originally designed the Fachan with the team at Precision Sails to be used with a furling system as we wanted something that would be easily controlled by a single person. Unfortunately, the furler unit we purchased for this turned out to be the wrong kind and we haven’t been able to find a second hand one on our travels.

With this special Top Down Furler, we will be able to control the Fachan much more safely when only one of us is on watch during long passages.
