About Us

Our adventure began in Scotland, just as the pandemic broke out. We sold everything, purchased one way tickets to the other side of the world with the intention of buying a boat. Only, it wasn't to be that simple. After initial disappointment, we hitchhiked on other boats throughout the Caribbean and even lived in a shipping container for a while before we finally found Indioko. The name comes from Ancient Greek meaning 'In Pursuit'... we know we are chasing something but we don't necessarily know what.

When we purchased Indioko, she was a shell, fresh out of a hard charter life. As we cruised through 11 countries in the Caribbean, we worked hard to refit her as we travelled, installing solar panels and lithium batteries as well as building our own watermaker and upgrading all our navigation equipment.

The adventure stepped up a notch when we headed to Central America, exploring the ancient city of Cartagena in Colombia and then sailing through the dangerous Darien Gap of Southern Panama where we learnt to live with the tribespeople of the Guna Yala.

Crossing the Pacific Ocean from Panama to the remote Marquesas Islands of French Polynesia was no joke. We snapped rigging, lived through lighting storms and blew up an engine to find this rugged tropical paradise.

Life in the tropical desert islands of the Pacific Ocean is idyllic, until something onboard breaks and you're too remote to find the parts to fix it. We spent 2.5 years exploring the most remote islands in the world, sailing through French Polynesia, the Cook Islands, Niue, Samoa and the Kingdom of Tonga as we dived with sharks, swam with humpback whales and marvelled at the endless views of pristine beaches and untouched beauty.

This November we will be arriving in New Zealand for a long overdue haul out. It's been 4 years since we lifted Indioko out of the water to do any maintenance and we have a list a mile long of repairs that are now critical. But can we achieve it? That's up to you...
